Congratulations to Matt Halton & Amy Sweet on their achievements at the U15 & U17 National Championships at Bedford, weekend 8th/9th August 2009. Report & Photos.

CONGRATULATIONS - to Matt Halton on winning the Inter Boys Shot Putt at the English Schools Championships on 10th/11th July 2009, setting a New County record in the process. Matt will now represent England in Antrim this weekend, 18th July 2009. Good Luck.

CONGRATULATIONS - to Jemma Simpson on winning the UK 800m Title at Birmingham on Sunday 12th July 2009. Jemma has been chosen to represent GB at the World Championships in Berlin next month. Good Luck

28/06/09 - Well Done to Chris McQuillen Wright for coming 4th representing GB Masters in France in the 3000m  on Saturday 27th June 2009.

09/06/09 - Congratulations to Chris McQuillen Wright who has been selected to represent Great Britain in the Matsers event against France & Belgium. He will compete in the 3000m, in France on Saturday 27th June 2009, Good Luck Chris.

01/06/09 - Congratulations to Philippa Brett for setting a new County Record in the U17 300m hurdles, also achieving the entry standard for the English Schools.

28/05/09 - Congratulations to Charlotte Cayton-Smith who is currently ranked 1st in the UK Power of Ten Rankings for the under 13 girls 1500m.

22/03/09 - KARIS IS BEST - Living up to her reputation as the UK's best Shot Putter for her age, Karis Harrington has just won gold at the National Sportshall Finals at Birmingham, in her final event as an Under 13

Well Done to Chris McQuillen Wright - Chris got a silver in the 1500m and a bronze in the 3000m at the National Masters Champs held at Lee Valley on 7th/8th March 2009.

SEAA Cross Country Championships, Hillingdon 24/01/09 - Report & Photos.

Well done to April Hogg who had a brilliant run at Cardiff in the Cardiff Cross Challenge on Sunday 18th January 2009 coming 4th in the U15 girls race. Anna Sharrock had a good run in the U20 ladies finishing 22nd.

Congratulations to 11yr old Charlotte Cayton-Smith on becoming the Under 13 South West Cross Country Champion at Bicton College on 04/01/2009.

Congratulations to Daniel Pearce on his recent achievements, representing England in the Indoor Pentathlon, at Glasgow on Saturday 13th December 2008

English Schools Cross Country Cup - four of the seven athletes representing Newquay Tretherras school at the ESAA XCountry junior girls finals at Shepshed High School, Leicester held Sunday 6th Dec 2008 were N&P athletes. The school came 9th out of 25 schools. With 144 competitors racing the final placings were : Charlotte Cayton-Smith (4), Bryony McRobbie (39), Katie Yeomans (79), Emily Whitchurch (92). These girls were supported by fellow pupils Emily Harbisher (57), Jenna Dingle (101) and travelling reserve Holly Martin.

24/11/08 - BMC Cross Country Championships, Bristol - Eight dedicated young athletes made the journey to the cold, windy Clifton Downs for this event. All the athletes performed well with good results. Report & Race Results.

11/11/08 - NEWQUAY ATHLETES REACH NATIONAL FINALS - Newquay Tretherras School Junior Girls Cross Country team finished 3rd in the English Schools Cross Country Cup regional Final at Sherborne, Dorset on Saturday 8th November 2008. With six in a team (the first four to score) the scoring runners are also all club members. The race was won by Charlotte Cayton-Smith (Yr7), with Bryony McRobbie (Yr8) 17th, Katie Yeomans (Yr8) 18th & Emily Whitchurch (Yr8) 26th completing the scoring. These four were supported well with good results from Jenna Dingle (Yr8) & Emily Harbisher (Yr7). The girls will now compete in the National Finals on Saturday 6th December 2008 at Shepshed High School, Leicester. Good Luck. More details can be found on the Sainsbury's English Schools Website.

23/10/08 ENGLAND ATHLETICS -  England Athletics have announced a major restructure of their organisation. The 9 Regions will now become ONE National Organisation. This will require a new committee setup in the South West to ensure we can compete and hold competitions. Please see the ENGLAND ATHLETICS Website for details.

Circuit Training, Bodmin School - This popular Monday evening training session is almost full for this year. If you are interested in attending please contact Roland Mark for details. The circuits are designed to be progressive throughout the winter to increase athletes’ strength and coordination with body weight, plyometrics and event specific exercises. The circuits are suitable for athletes from U13 upwards, as the exercises can be adapted with the emphasis being on the quality of execution. The sessions run from 7pm to 8.30pm from early October to Easter.

08/09/08 - Congratulations to Karis Harrington, she is currently ranked 1st in the UK for Under 13 Girls Shot Putt. Well done Karis.

31/08/08 - The Women's Southern League team won their final league match at Par which ensures they will be in the Premier League again next year. Well Done. Match Report.

08/08/08 - Well done to the  young athletes that entered the recent Tywardreath Fun Run. Danielle Lewsey-Holmes was 1st girl home, Diana Chalmers was 2nd girl, Bryher Freight 3rd girl and Amy Chalmers 5th girl.

06/08/08 - CONGRATULATIONS to the Men's Southern League Team who secured promotion to Division 2 as Champions by winning their final league match at Abingdon. The team maintained their 100% record in the league this year. Well Done.

29/07/08 - CONGRATULATIONS to Jemma Simpson on being selected to represent Great Britain in the 800m at the Beijing Olympic Games in August. It has been her ambition, since the age of 10 to go to the Olympics. She jets of to China next week. Good Luck!  

13/07/08 - Congratulations to the Men's Southern League Team - who gained promotion from Division 3 West with one fixture remaining. They hope to win this remaining match and go up as Champions!  Match Report

07/07/08 - CONGRATULATIONS -  to Chris McQuillen Wright who won the 1500m  National Final in the Masters Championships at Birmingham on Saturday 5th July. In a tactical race, Chris came home in a time of 4.11.52s to add this National title to the Indoor Title he won earlier in the year. Well done Chris.

Bishop's Forum Kids Charity Triathlon - Congratulations to Lowenna Hawkey, Diana Chalmers & Jordan Holroyd who won gold, silver & bronze, respectively. More details here.

Congratulations - Maria Brett - Maria is currently ranked 2nd in the UK Indoor Athletics rankings for U13 girls 60m Hurdles. Maria has had an excellent indoor season setting a PB of 10.02s at Eton on Sunday 2nd March 2008.

Well Done - Jemma Simpson, for her win in the 1500m at Sheffield on Sunday 10th February in the UK Championship/World  trials, setting an indoor PB over this event. Jemma has been selected to represent Great Britain in the 1500m at the World Indoor Championships in March. She has also just taken delivery of a brand new car, courtesy of her sponsors Lowena Homes, which will enable her to travel around the UK in greater comfort and safety to attend competitions and help her to achieve her goal of an Olympic medal in Beijing in August!

Congratulations - Chris McQuillen Wright, following on from his impressive performances in the South of England Masters Championships at the Lea Valley Indoor Arena on 9th February 2008, Chris returned to the same venue for the British Masters National Finals on the 23rd/24th February 2008. He came 2nd in the 800m with a time of 2:02:17s and followed that up with an excellent win in the 1500m on Sunday the 24th with a time of 4:13:97s. Well done Chris!
